Yes it’s home to the iconic Iron Lady, but there’s so much more to the 7th Arrondissement than the Eiffel Tower.

Trust us. Here are some of the things you should really be checking out in this affluent neighbourhood of Paris: from gourmet food stops to cultural events, we share our top tips for an afternoon in the 7th.

Visit the 19th arrondissement

Discover Paris

The 19th arrondissement, in the northern part of the capital, is one of the largest Parisian arrondissements, and has the distinction of being traversed by the Ourcq canal, providing a unique landscape for its residents. With the two largest parks in the city, the 19th is the perfect place for walks and picnics, a moment of relaxation and calm that will be much appreciated during your stay in Paris !

A visit in the 10th Arrondissement

Discover Paris

The 10th arrondissement is lucky to have such a strategic location in Paris: between the Grands Boulevards and Place de la République, not far from the Bastille and Belleville districts. This rather central arrondissement provides convenient access to many of the major places in the capital in just a short metro ride.

What to do in the 10th arrondissement ?

There are not a lot of monuments to visit in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. It is rather a place where people like go out, take walks, etc. However, you will notice two small triumphal arches, which are the remains of the former gates of Paris: Porte Saint-Denis and Porte Saint-Martin (near the 3rd arrondissement).
If you are lucky enough to have nice weather, a cruise along Saint Martin Canal is a must! It’s always great to find and take a breath of fresh air in the city. At night, groups of friends meet here for a “potluck” aperitif between rounds of pétanque. You will especially enjoy the beautiful view of sunset from the Quai de Valmy or Quai de Jemmapes.

Visit the 18th Arrondissement

Discover Paris

After checking out the 5th and 7th Arrondissements we continue our discovery of Paris and today we look to the north in the 18th Arrondissement. A neighborhood of artists, hipsters (bourgeois-bohèmes or bobos in French), tourists, markets of all sorts, cabarets, concert halls…  A cheerful melting pot that Paul a lover of the neighborhood wanted to share with us.

How does an ideal day in the 18th begin for you?
To start out our day we will climb to the top of the Butte Montmartre (warming up the legs to start the day out right). For the brave you can take the stairs, otherwise there is always the funicular which will drop you off at the top. From there you can enjoy a 360° view of Paris and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Don’t hesitate to go inside—it is worth the detour! Then we will take a little stroll around the Place du Tertre, the center of the old village of Montmartre. It is home to many artists, a reminder of an era when Montmartre was the primary meeting place for the modern art world.
